Sharing God’s Word and heart in Ethiopia
July 07, 2023
But we were gentle among you, just as a nursing mother cherishes her own children. So, affectionately longing for you, we were well pleased to impart to you not only the gospel of God, but also our own lives, because you had become dear to us. -1 Thessalonians 2:7-8
“I am a pastor in a small village. Before your program, my knowledge of the Bible was only head knowledge. I used what I knew to beat myself up, and others, too.”
That’s what we hear from a listener in Ethiopia as our world prayer journey continues in eastern Africa. However, that’s just the beginning of his story—it gets better:
“As I have studied with you, I have learned to be thoughtful, kind, and gentle when sharing God’s Word. I have learned to care about myself and others the way God cares for us. The study in 1 Thessalonians 2 really helped with that. Before, I found no joy in my relationship with the Lord, and now I am overflowing with it. I thank God for you.”
Sharing God’s heart and His Word. Is there anything better? Today as God’s Word goes out in the language of Amharic, pray more people hear about God’s love and want to share it with others. Like this pastor, may their hearts spill over with His joy and overflow into their lives.
Joshua 24:15 is increasingly important to a family in the Dominican Republic. Join us next time and find out more.
