Our redemption is near

October 09, 2024

“Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.” -Luke 21:28

Welcome, prayer travelers. As we continue our journey through North America, we meet up with Sandra, a fellow passenger on the Bible Bus. Here’s her story:

“I am writing to you from Canada, born in Venezuela. I listen to this program in Spanish every morning on my way to work. Sometimes I even listen to it twice a day. When I have concerns and want to know something, I turn to the studies. They are a great blessing for my life, and I have learned a lot.

“My daughter was the first one to suggest we get on the Bible Bus. She downloaded it on my phone. The first thing I heard the next morning was the hymn ‘Cuan Firme Cimiento.’ My heart jumped for joy and my mind was transported to my past when my grandmother listened to this program in Venezuela on Radio Trans Mundial from Bonaire. Since then, my grandmother left to be with the Lord, and it was here in Canada that I surrendered my life to Christ.

“My prayer for this ministry is forward, always forward … our redemption is near. As God’s timeline unfolds, I pray we become more thrilled in making every minute of our lives count to prepare for that great day.”

What a powerful reminder. Let’s join Sandra in her prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude and anticipation. As we live in the hope of Your Son’s return, guide us to make each day count in service to You.

Help us to recognize the preciousness of every moment and live with purpose. Inspire us to embrace each day with joy. May our actions reflect Your love and our words carry the message of Your grace. Fill us with Your Spirit and give us the power to live boldly and faithfully, reflecting Your grace. In Jesus’ name, amen.

How would you describe the Bible in one word? A listener in Canada shares her answer tomorrow on World Prayer Today.
