Three big obstacles to the gospel in Papua New Guinea
June 13, 2024
Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. -1 Timothy 2:1-4
Welcome, Prayer Team. Our travels bring us to Papua New Guinea where we’re praying against obstacles to the gospel (and there are many). Here are a few of the biggest:
- Papua New Guinea is a complex island nation and one of the most culturally diverse in the world.
- God’s Word is not easily accessible to many people because of the many languages spoken.
- Many people don’t know how to read—the literacy rate is the lowest in the region.
Despite these challenges, we know God wants all people to come to knowledge of the truth. Ask Him to use His Word to point the way to salvation by faith in Jesus Christ alone. Pray for their identity to rise above tribal and ethnic ties so that people are brought together in their new faith in Jesus Christ.
Hop aboard tomorrow as we pray Psalm 113 in New Zealand.
