One small change leads to big results

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. -2 Timothy 3:16-17
Work, school, meals, errands, chores, repeat. Family life is busy! Sometimes it’s hard to find the extra time to spend in God’s Word together. That’s the story of a family in Armenia, but one small change yielded big results. Here’s their story:
“My name is Inna, and our family listens to your radio program all together. We didn’t always. My parents always wanted us to read the Bible together, but somehow the days escaped us. One night after dinner my mother said she had a special dessert for us. We all stayed at the table longer to find out what it was. Soon she played your program and we stared at her strangely. As it started, she passed out pastries. I thought perhaps after a few minutes my older sister would leave the table, but she didn’t. We all stayed and listened. Now each night your teaching is our dessert. We sit and talk about the Bible. It has become our favorite time of the day.”
As we thank God for this faithful family, ask Him to deepen yours, too. Let’s use 2 Timothy 3:16-17 as our guide:
Father, thank You for this reminder that Your Word is to be celebrated with those we love most. Help us set aside time regularly to read, study, and share together. Help us to linger over and love it in all the ways You intend. Help us to weave it into the fabric of our family conversations, decisions, and traditions. In the precious name of Jesus, amen.
