Finding confidence in Christ
March 12, 2021
Welcome, team. Today we land in Phnom Penh and pray our way through some of Cambodia’s most famous sites, including what many travel websites have called the 8th wonder of the world, Angkor Wat.
While originally constructed as a Hindu temple, by the end of the 12th century Angkor Wat was converted into a Buddhist temple and continues to be one of the most important pilgrimage sites for Buddhists in Cambodia and around the world. It has also become a symbol of Cambodia, appearing on its national flag, and is the country’s prime attraction for visitors.
While more than 85% of Cambodians follow Buddhism, we’re excited to share that reports of God using THRU the BIBLE to draw people closer to Him are growing in number. As Kiri, a listener who joins us on the Bible Bus in his language of Khmer, tells us:
“I became a Christian several years ago, but I was unconfident about my Christian life. It is very different than the religion of my family, so I was unsure of many things.
“I began to listen to your program, and I noticed something in my mind was changing. Your programs encouraged me to live God’s way and also showed me about the place of Jesus Christ in my life. Thru the Bible has helped me get to know my Savior. As I study His Word, God reveals more and more about Himself. May He be praised for having His almighty Word on the air.”
As we come before the throne of grace today, thank God for the many ways He makes His Word available to those who seek Him. Pray more in Cambodia will want to know Him and walk away from the empty rituals they’ve been raised to worship.
Next week, hear how God is using satellite TV to reach into homes in the Middle East. Meet us on Monday in Iran.
