There are no accidents with God

Remember the former things of old, for I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like Me, declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things that are not yet done, saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, and I will do all My pleasure.’ -Isaiah 46:9-10
There are no accidents with God. God’s sovereignty is His complete and absolute rule, control, and power over all things. God has decreed all that has ever happened and ever will happen and ultimately brings about all things He has purposed. And yet, if we were to write a book of all the letters we’ve shared about fellow Bible Bus passengers finding God by “accident,” it likely would span over many volumes. Do you remember some of them? This one from Eva in Uruguay would make a nice addition.
“One day, without intending to, I found your program. I thought it was literary and it was about the reign of David. As I listened a desire awoke to follow it. I confess that, until that moment, I didn’t believe in God or anything that was not provable. I asked for the Notes & Outlines and received them. Then I abandoned them, then I picked them up again.
“Not long after, I had a physical issue. During my long recovery period, I got even closer to your studies, and one day I accepted Christ in my life. Later I looked for a church, and today I can tell you that I believe in God and that He has transformed my life. Walking with God is an adventure I never could have imagined. I am frequently pained by not having known about Dr. McGee sooner. May God be with you as you share His Word.”
Today thank God that He uses the circumstances and situations of our lives to draw us to Him. Thank Him that what may seem like an accident or coincidence is actually part of His intricate plan and purpose for our lives. Pray for those He is still calling. Pray their eyes are opened and their hearts are readied for the amazing adventure He has in store.
