From Curiosity to Christ: Aziz’s Journey in Uzbekistan
April 16, 2025
Prayer Points
- Pray for open hearts – That seekers like Aziz will find the truth and respond to God’s call.
- Pray for understanding – That the gospel will be clearly understood despite cultural or religious barriers.
- Pray for courage – That new believers in Uzbekistan will have boldness as they begin their faith journey.
Spiritual curiosity often starts with a question. In Uzbekistan, where Islam is the dominant religion and Christianity is often misunderstood or restricted, such questions can be life-altering. Yet, when the gospel is heard clearly and compassionately, hearts open.
That’s exactly what we’re seeing through THRU the BIBLE’s outreach in this region. In a land where access to God’s Word is limited and Christian fellowship is rare, the truth of Scripture is breaking through. In one young man’s story, we see how God draws people who are seeking Him with all their hearts.
Be encouraged by a story from Aziz, a young man from Uzbekistan:
After watching a video about the rich young ruler who came to Jesus, Aziz said: “I want to know more. I am looking for God with all my heart. I am longing to find Him, to have a real relationship with Him.” Aziz was surprised to learn that the story was found in the Bible. He began asking questions about Christianity, and broadcasters from THRU the BIBLE shared the gospel with him. From Genesis to the crucifixion, they explained the story of the Bible. Aziz was fascinated. “I never knew this before,” he said. He asked about how Christians pray. “I know Christians pray differently from Muslims.” When he found out that he could pray in his own words, Aziz couldn’t believe it!
Praise God for Aziz and for the opportunity to plant seeds of truth in a place where the gospel is still unfamiliar. THRU the BIBLE’s content in heart languages is opening the door to the gospel—sometimes through one simple story, one sincere question, or one moment of realization.
As you reflect on Aziz’s words, consider the privilege you have to speak to God personally in your own language and from your own heart. Let’s thank God for it, and let’s pray for those in Uzbekistan who are just beginning to understand the beauty of knowing Jesus.
