Your prayers are needed in Guinea

November 15, 2024

Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord. -1 Corinthians 15:58

The need for God’s Word is urgent in Guinea. Bible-believing Christians make up less than 1% of the population, and 88% follow Islam. Sadly, this small Christian community is shrinking, with many nominal Christians falling away.

Lukewarmness in the church has hindered both church planting and evangelism, creating a desperate need for leaders who are well-equipped and passionate about spreading the gospel. But in the midst of this challenging situation, God’s Word is finding patches of fertile ground. Be encouraged by this email our team recently received:

“One evening, on my way back from work at the bank, I had a very serious accident. While I was in the hospital, a good friend came to visit me and brought a USB filled with your messages in the Pulaar language. After the visits, I listened with my phone, and I ended up deciding that Jesus is the Lord and that He can save me. Today, I am a child of God and a brother in Christ. God saved me both eternally and physically. I am currently in rehabilitation, and by the grace of God, I will be released soon and cannot wait to share His Word with others.”

Thank God for the courageous friend who shared the Good News at such a crucial moment. Though the Christian community in Guinea is small, pray God uses them for mighty works. May they be steadfast and immovable, always abounding in their work, knowing that their labor is not in vain, and may they be blessed for it.
