Is there purpose in our pain?

July 18, 2024

“When we know for sure that God is with us in all life’s troubles, we can live by faith and not by fear.” -Dr. J. Vernon McGee

Going THRU the BIBLE together, we’re finding that even though God loves His children, He does permit us to suffer. Rado in Madagascar tells us his life is in turmoil and He is more committed than ever to following God. Here’s his story:

“Shalom. I follow your program daily, in fact many times twice. It is a priceless treasure. I am grateful for your explanation that the deserts are a necessary part of our journey. Life is hard for my family right now, but knowing that God is with us and will use the bad for His purposes is comfort to our souls. Please pray for us.”

Together let’s pray for all our brothers and sisters on the Bible Bus who are suffering. We’ll begin with 2 Corinthians 1:3-4:

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. -2 Corinthians 1:3-4

Father, thank You for the extravagant kindness and comfort You so willingly give us in our darkest hours. We pray in turn we can comfort others who need it. May Your Spirit extinguish our fears and bolster our faith. May we face each new day with confidence and hope because we know You have a purpose for us, and our lives are in Your hands. In Jesus’ name we pray, amen.
