Christmas greetings from Serbia

December 25, 2020

“Praise God for everything; His ways and the ways He works are wonderful.”

That’s the Christmas greeting we receive from a listener named Divna in Serbia. She continues:

“Since the situation with the coronavirus surprised us all and locked us in houses, I became lonely. I am 68 years old and retired. The days began to drag on, and sometimes I didn’t get out of bed at all. One day a friend called me, and I was grateful for the company. After that she called me every day. She suggested I begin to listen to Thru the Bible so we would have something to talk about.

“As soon as I started, I was overcome with joy. I was tired of constantly watching television, because everything was full of immorality, politics, bad news, violence, and vanity. Your programs were a great refreshment. I felt as though my whole being cried out to God, but I was not aware of it until the moment I heard the gospel. I realized then only God could fill my emptiness.

“My friend and I began talking many times a day, sometimes for hours. She told me about God’s love and grace, and we talked about Dr. McGee’s teaching. I gave my life to the Lord, and we started praying together over the phone. I am overjoyed by all this and cannot wait to join my friend at church when it is open again. My friend has told me Thru the Bible has many people praying around the world. Thank you for those prayers that led me to discover Him. May all glory be to God.”

Yes, thank you for praying alongside us this year. As you come before His throne today, thank God for the opportunity to watch Him work around the world and pray that in 2021 more people will join us in singing “glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men” (Luke 2:14)!

A fellow prayer warrior from Bolivia encourages us on Monday. Pack your bags and we’ll meet you there.
