How to pray for Cuba

January 02, 2024

Welcome to Cuba, where life is complicated and God’s Word brings relief to listeners like Cecilia who tells us:

“Only God can do the big and small things. Like parting of the Red Sea, raising the dead, and changing hearts like mine. His works are amazing and I sing His praises. I am thankful for His grace and mercy and for having brothers and sisters all over the world. Do not stop praying for me, my family, my country. What seems insurmountable to us, is not to God. Times are changing and your prayers are helping.”

As we pray for God’s Word going out in Central America and the Caribbean, let’s focus on Cuba. Here are a few prompts to get us started:

  1. Pray for churches and believers. The government seeks to control and limit church influence. As a result, many operate underground. Ask God to give His people wisdom and strength as they worship and share His name.
  2. Pray for provision. In Cuba, there are shortages of necessities like medicine, food, and toiletries. These can be found at high prices, but ordinary people often can’t afford them.
  3. Pray for the salvation of President Miguel Diaz-Canel and all those who govern Cuba.
  4. Pray for THRU the BIBLE to be heard clearly by more Cubans each day. Pray for Bibles and other Christian resources to be plentiful.

Tomorrow we’re praying for God’s small and growing church in Uzbekistan. See you there.
