Praying for our sick loved ones

October 11, 2023

But You, O Lord, do not be far from Me;O My Strength, hasten to help Me! -Psalm 22:19

It’s hard to watch someone we love suffer, but knowing others are praying alongside us can make all the difference. That’s what we hear from a mother in Pakistan. Here’s her story.

“I’m a housewife in my 50s. My daughter is in my thoughts a lot. Her husband passed away two years after she got married. Now her neck is swollen, and she is ill and feeble. I wasn’t optimistic about her future. But a friend has offered to pray for her and shared your programs with us. This offer of prayer has meant so much, and in your teaching we find hope and mental tranquility. Pray for my daughter, please.”

Let’s pray now for this family and all those on the Bible Bus who face the unknowns an illness can bring.

Heavenly Father, we come to You with our worries and our fears about the illnesses of our loved ones. It is miserable to see them struggle in pain. Even though we feel powerless, we know You are with us and are sovereign over every circumstance. In faith, we respond to the promises in Your Word that You hear our prayers. So, we bring them before You to ask for Your healing touch. We ask that Your will would be done in their lives and ours. Thank You for the forgiveness of sin and the promise of eternal healing. We also ask You to provide healing for on this side of heaven, if that is the best for us. Be near to us, Lord. Give us Your strength when we are afraid. In the precious name of Jesus, amen.
