Praying against spiritual deceit and distraction

Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons. -1 Timothy 4:1
On previous travels through the country of Lesotho, we’ve learned although the majority of people claim to follow Jesus, many also practice ancestor worship and are involved with the occult. So how should we pray? In his booklet, “Living for God in a World That Has Forgotten Him,” Dr. McGee says the book of Jude guides us in verses
20-25.
Pray they:
- Build themselves up on their most holy faith
- Pray in the Holy Spirit
- Keep themselves in the love of God
- Look for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life
- Have compassion, making a distinction …
- … But others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire
- Hate even the garment defiled by the flesh
